PLANT CARE BASICS

Use the QR code on your plant for its specific care instructions. These general tips are a helpful starting point; adjust them for the plant variety and conditions in your home.

LIGHT
Most indoor plants prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid harsh afternoon sun unless the plant is known to tolerate it.

WATERING
Check the soil before watering. Water thoroughly, let excess water drain, and never leave the pot sitting in standing water.

SOIL & REPOTTING
Use a well-draining mix suited to the plant. Repot when roots circle the pot, grow through drainage holes, or the soil dries unusually fast.

TEMPERATURE & HUMIDITY
Keep most houseplants away from cold drafts, heaters, and sudden temperature changes. Tropical plants often appreciate added humidity.

FERTILIZING
Feed during active growth using a plant-appropriate fertilizer at the label rate. Reduce feeding when growth slows.

PESTS
Inspect leaves and stems regularly. Isolate affected plants and treat early. When asking for help, include the plant name and clear photos.

CARNIVOROUS PLANTS
Care varies by species. Use the plant’s QR instructions, avoid standard potting soil, and use appropriate low-mineral water when directed.

CACTI & SUCCULENTS
Provide strong light and allow the soil to dry more thoroughly between waterings. Always use a fast-draining mix.
