Our Story

Plants have a way of making a space feel alive.

Plants by Nick began with a simple love for growing beautiful plants and sharing that joy with other people.

Rooted in a lifelong love of plants

I’ve always loved plants and garden work. In 2004, I started a landscape and design business with a push mower, walking up and down my street to build a customer base. As the business grew, I bought a Craftsman riding tractor and trailer so I could go farther. Once I got my driver’s license, I expanded into several towns.

Finding balance through plants

After graduating from high school, I continued landscaping and joined my local volunteer first aid squad. I went on to become an EMT (emergency medical technician), working rotating day and night shifts.

Growing and caring for houseplants became my way to slow down, relax, and unwind. That passion grew to include raising rare and unusual plants from seed and tissue culture—watching something small develop into a beautiful plant.

A love for rare beauty

Some of the plants that have been part of that journey include Philodendron spiritus-sancti, Philodendron Caramel Marble, Variegated Philodendron billietiae, Alocasia Black Velvet Pink, Anthurium Delta Force, Monstera Burle Marx Flame, Monstera Devil Monster, Alocasia azlanii Aurea, Philodendron gloriosum Tricolor Marble, Anthurium Dark Phoenix Mint, Alocasia cuprea Pink Variegated, and Variegated Philodendron tortum.

Helping you grow with confidence

Plants by Nick grew from that same love of growing and caring for plants. I want to help you find a plant that fits your home and feel confident caring for it after you bring it home.
